In Brief About Us
Interclub Academy of Dance
is located at 7350 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Niles, Illinois,
a near-north Chicago suburb. The owners and principal instructors are Erwin and Iwona Rybczynski– internationally acclaimed dance competitors, teachers, and performers.
Erwin and Iwona began teaching at Interclub in 1996
But 12 years later they decided to take a huge step forward. They found the current Milwaukee Avenue location and acquired an architect to design the professionally-equipped dance studio they had always dreamed of. The new Interclub Academy of Dance opened it’s doors in February of 2008. At this location they offer ballroom dance lessons, latin dance lessons, and hip hop dance lessons.
FROM THE LARGE RECEPTION AREA
with chairs and comfortable couches
you’ll see two huge flat screen monitors that stream live video from the studio’s ballrooms. This allows parents to watch their children’s progress without interfering. The ballrooms are spacious enough to learn the Waltz, Cha Cha Cha, Jive, Samba, Rumba, Foxtrot, Bachata, Merengue, Salsa, Hip Hop and Ballet with ease. Interclub Academy of Dance actually has three large ballrooms, and each has the latest high tech audio equipment as well as immaculate hardwood floors.

Iwona

Erwin
OWNER, HEAD INSTRUCTOR
Iwona started dancing in Poland at the age of 16 at the request of a friend who didn’t want to take dance lessons by herself. After a short time, her friend quit dancing and Iwona fell in love with dance and continued to advance. After taking a few levels of group classes, she then signed up for competitive dancing with one of Poland’s leading dance studios “Fala Sopot”.
Erwin grew up dancing just on impulse, and maintains that “he was dancing before he was born”. At age 14 he found a dance school where he could find what he was seeking. He joined the competitive team. Soon, Erwin’s dance partner had to leave the country and he asked Iwona to try out with him. She did, and as they say, the rest is history. That was in 1989.
ERWIN & IWONA
The competitive levels “winning pretty much everything”.
After reaching the international class “S”, the highest competitive level in Standard and Latin American dance, they went on to win Polish Championship.
In 1996 they came to the US as professional dancers, and it was here in Chicago that they began to teach. From 1996 to 2004 they taught at a school called Interclub which they eventually bought in 2004.
In 2008 they hired an architect to construct their current 5200 sq. ft. studio from their own design.
Erwin and Iwona have continued to compete and are US National Finalists in Rising Star Professional American Rhythm Division.
OUR NEW TEACHERS
Interclub is happy to welcome new teachers.
Oskar Rybczynski
INSTRUCTOR
Oskar, the son of Erwin and Iwona, began his dance journey at the tender age of 3, nearly from the moment he could walk. Initially dancing with his mother, he soon found a partner and embarked on a competitive career in both Latin and Standard styles. His junior career was marked by impressive achievements, including becoming the Pre-teen 2 United States Champion in 2015, a double Youth National Champion in 2021, and finishing in the top 7 at the US National Latin Championship in 2023. Following these successes, Oskar invited Daniela to join him in the United States to continue their dance careers together.
This will be a wonderful new journey for our students!
Daniela Koretska
INSTRUCTOR
Daniela began her dance journey in Ukraine at the age of four. Growing up in a family of dancers, she recalls being a ballroom dancer for as long as she can remember. Initially, she competed locally in both Standard and Latin styles in her hometown of Lviv. She soon advanced to National competitions in the Capitol, Kyiv, and later to International competitions in France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Over time, Daniela became a multiple-time Ukrainian National champion and an International finalist. In early 2023, she moved to the US to make a partnership with Oskar.

Since then, Oskar and Daniela have risen to prominence as a top Under-21 Ballroom and Latin dance couple in the United States. They have reached the finals of the country's most prestigious competitions and secured a spot in the Open to the World U21 Latin final. Their achievements include becoming the 2023 Ohio Star Ball 10-Dance Champions and the vice-champions of the Fordney Foundation Best of the Best 2023 showcase. In 2024, they were honored with an invitation to compete in the final of the Ballroom Spirit Foundation Under-21 Latin Tour in Boston.
